I’ve been training at CrossFit Jozi since: January 2012

I discovered CrossFit through: A colleague Samantha Armstrong. At the time she was a member at CFJ. So I told hubby about it, she took us to check out the box one Friday and joined up for the next “jump-up.”

The most significant change in my health since starting CrossFit has been: Honestly everything. I have learnt so much about fitness and nutrition that has allowed me to change my life for the better.

My biggest challenge in CrossFit is: Accepting my limitations. Had to learn to eat humble pie many times. I still have a long list of goats (yes after all of these years) but I keep going at them every now and then.

Our community and the love of how CrossFit ticks keeps me coming back.

If I could use one word to describe myself it would be: Quiet (until you get to know me hehe)

My favorite activity outside of CrossFit is: Mountain biking when I do eventually get on my bike I love the peace and quiet of our local surroundings.

My favorite place to eat in Jozi is: I don’t have a particular favorite place as it is great to discover new places.

My proudest accomplishment at CrossFit Jozi is: 2012 CFJ Winter challenge. We had to do something outside of CrossFit for extra bonus points so Ruz and I completed the 45km Walkerville challenge. It was one of those typical winter days when that cold snap had to hit with rain and wind from hell. I was never so happy to see a finish line in my life.

My goals for the remainder of the year are: Focus on nutrition (getting the zone locked down) and that list of goats and getting on my mountain bike some more.
