I’ve been training at CrossFit Jozi since: 17 September 2012 (approximately 2 years)

I discovered CrossFit through: I was channel hopping through the sport channels and came across the 2011 Crossfit finals on ESPN, googled the sport and came across Crossfit Jozi’s webpage where I booked an Intro class.

The most significant change in my health since starting CrossFit has been: My overall fitness and energy levels have gone up significantly to do all the everyday activities, better. In addition to that I had some issues with my lower back as the result of my weak core (and poor form at my local gym) but has since recovered completely.

My biggest challenge in CrossFit is: Any variation of the pull-up. Kip ping, dead hang, name it and it’s a challenge.

Continued improvement in my capabilities that exceeds my expectations, and also the occasional personal best keeps me coming back.

If I could use one word to describe myself it would be: Predictable

My favorite activity outside of CrossFit is: Spending time with my wife, family and even the in-laws. I am also a passionate supporter of good football (i.e FC Barcelona) and watch all the major leagues, except Italian league.

My favorite place to eat in Jozi: Cappuccino’s. They have really great Pizza’s

My proudest accomplishment at CrossFit Jozi is: Definitely my  handstand without having to lean on the wall.

My goals for the remainder of the year are: Time is so little but getting more than 4 consecutive dead hang pull-ups, 20 meter handstand walk, and reaching level 2 for all the running components is my goal for the remainder of the year.
