It’s been difficult selecting an Athlete of the Month for April because each one of you has been putting in so much effort. Cecil was chosen for April’s athlete of the month, because of his dedication and consistency in training, not only throughout the month of April, but he has shown determination since he first stepped foot into the box. Remember results are based on consistency in training, healthy choices in nutrition and resting hard!

I’ve been training at CrossFit Jozi since the end of March 2014
I discovered CrossFit through the signage driving past the gym and was curious – so researched and decided to give it a shot!
The most significant change in my health since starting CrossFit has definitely been a mental one – Once one gets stuck in the World becomes a lot less noisy.
My biggest challenge in CrossFit is that some of the exercises are quite technical – not tying myself in a knot is normally a highlight!
Walking out at the end of a workout with a clear mind keeps me coming back.
If I could use one word to describe myself it would be: Reserved
My favorite activity outside of CrossFit is watching sports from the couch
My favorite place to eat in Jozi is wherever a good ‘braaimaster’ is in the vicinity
My proudest accomplishment at CrossFit Jozi is finishing workouts in time, at this stage!
My goals for the remainder of the year are to persevere, to enjoy the journey and to become a better all-round athlete.
